DIY Clay Gift Tags - From Bonbonnieres For Vintage Themed Weddings To Birthday Gift Tags

As part of my Christmas craft projects I posted a tutorial on how to make simple doily lace print ornaments for your tree... now that Christmas is over I've turned some of the left over decos into gift tags, making these babies an all year round gift giving adornment.

These tags would be great for adding a bit of detail to your Bonbonnieres for weddings or special occasions - perfect for the DIY Bride looking to add a bit of handmade vintage chic to their theme, you could also use these as place cards by stamping your guests names into the clay. If you have scrap off cuts of lace from your gown why not use them to imprint a pattern into the clay.

All you need to do is find some cookie cutters in the shapes you like and make the lace print clay as shown below or feel free to check out my original tutorial is here

Thrift stores are a great place to find antique linens and lace or you can find a pattern you love at your local fabric store and use that instead.

I used air dry clay for this project which you can find at your local craft store.

Once you have made your doily print clay cut out the shape using your cookie cutter and pierce a hole for the string and leave to dry for 24-48 hours.

These tags look great strung with either natural or bakers twine
