Haven't those glorious Peacock Chairs come a long way since Morticia Addams sat in one... Like most must have vintage items I've had the odd bid here and there on a variety of Peacock Chairs and I still don't have one - at one stage $80 would just about buy one, now triple or quadruple it and you are possibly in with a chance, but the thrifty vintage hunter within will await the day I find bargain at an opp shop, market or antique centre (btw, I hear you saying good luck lady, never going to happen!)
Recently my passion was reignited when
Tania at Scandi Coast Home revealed her stunning collection... so we'll add this to the list of must have vintage items!.
now let's drool over their loveliness!

omg Tania, you are an amazing collector of vintage loveliness! I can't wait to see your new buy... you must have the best vintage stores around you!. xx Tina
DeletePop down to Felix, in Dromana! I saw one on Wednesday last week! Not fancy schamcy Tania chair but lovely none the less :)
DeleteI will keep my eyes open for you! xx
Funny you should mention it, Mum called me on the way to Dromana today - she was off to do some antiquing, I mentioned I was on the lookout for a peacock chair so perhaps she did some "bargain hunting" ground work for me!.
DeleteThanks so much Pippa :) xx
get those chicks out of the way...I wanna see the chairs lol. wow some bits of gorgeous here....can you believe Tania....we will have to start calling her the peacock lady!
ReplyDeleteAl x
He he so true Allison, move over ladies.... Tania is a magnet for vintage treasure and so are you lady!. I cannot believe the milk glass you have found lately! xx Tina
Deletethey are so iconic, i'd just love one, in a really bright bright, though they wouldn't suit my place at all, perhaps a miniature version (with the matching bed head) for my girls room. i've never seen one out opping either sad to say, but they probably just don't last long there so always a chance...x
ReplyDeleteAren't they Max, hope your feeling great, must be 38 weeks now - how exciting!! :). A mini chair and bed head to match sound amazing, I see the vintage single bed heads every now and then on ebay, they are so great!. xx Tina
DeleteThey are lovely, but honestly, not very comfy (in my opinion). The backs are a bit too up and downy. Can't deny they look good though...
ReplyDeleteI know what you are saying Kylie they would be a Chiropractor's nightmare... but still so so gorgeous! xx Tina :)
DeleteI can see why they are such a big ticket item now!
ReplyDeleteYes they are quite something aren't they! Hope you had a really lovely weekend :)! xx Tina
DeleteKeep the faith Tina. I confess that I wanted one for a display at my store, popped down to the Salvation Army and, voila, there it was. It cost me ten times as much in spray paint than the chair itself, but it looks stunning now. And if I had a dollar for everyone who has asked if they could buy it...
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your chair is just waiting for you to find it.
Hi Amanda,
DeleteLovely to meet you I thoroughly look forward to reading your lovely blog and discovering all there is to know about your shop.
I'm so thrilled you found one of these beauties at the Salvo's - that's an amazing find... clearly it can happen with a bit of positive thinking and vintage visualisation! Also sounds like it was a bargain too which is even better. I will continue to dream and wait for the thrifted peacock chair destined to be in my ownership!! :-). xx Tina
