Flowering Cactus - 20 Years In The Making!
My siblings have all recently bought rescue dogs, my hubby Adam on the other hand has had rescue pet for the last 20 years only his/ours is a cactus that measures about 9ft tall and flowered for the first time this month!.
Here are the pics... the flower grew for about two weeks, bloomed for 24 hours and then died... many a joke is made about the appearance of the cactus, for obvious reasons, but overall I would have to say it is my husbands pride and joy - the cactus that is!.

Wow, that's definitely impressive! I can see why there are a few jokes thrown around about it's appearnance, but I won't go there ;)

DeleteThat is an amazing cactus, but even more amazing is that your husband has kept it alive and growing for the past 20 years. I can't imagine how excited he must have been when it bloomed.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Dana, yes Adam says it was nearly dead and about 5 inches tall when he first rescued it... he was absolutely thrilled when it finally bloomed, it was all he talked about for the entire two weeks... he was all of 14 when he first started to look after it which is so sweet!.
