So in the "Christmas Spirit" of all things vintage and old school I bought two honeycomb paper bells that I fondly remember my Aunties having in all the colours of the rainbow when I was a little one... thinking I'll hang these above the Christmas table this year... if only I'd kept the vintage originals!.
you can buy similar from lark made - here
and on the Thirfty Saturday front here are two vases I found at the local store... The Milk Glass above was $3 and the shell shaped wall vase below $4...
Have a lovely weekend!
xx
I love both vases, especially the shell.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know folks who would kill for that milk glass!
Your paper bells are lovely Rebecca, vintage or not. Your Aunty's would've been horribly dusty anyway. We don't pull out the decs until 12 days before the big day, I've got lots of vintage ones - stay tuned x
Oh Kylie I'm looking forward to seeing your vintage decs in a couple of weeks no doubt they will be fantastic!
Deletexx Tina
Rebecca? That must be your middle name yeah? (ha!)
DeleteSo sorry I got it wrong TINA. How Awful of me, but I'll blame it on a very busy week and hope you accept my apology.
OMG no worries at all Kylie, so many blogs so many authors! Not awful at all I totally understand :) xx Tina (aka Bec!!) LOL!!.
DeleteWhat great vases!....loving the shell, very kitsch. We had the paper deccys when kids....was such a thrill to unfold them each year.....that crunchy sound they make....always a little more faded and torn than the year before?....happy decorating!

Totally Kitsch Allison, haven't wall mounted it yet, waiting to find the right fake flowers with those plastic glue like water droplets first ;-) LOL!!
DeleteI so know what you mean, I can hear the crunch and crackle now, tattered and all!. xx Tina
I picked up some retro Xmas decks last week, love those paper ones too! Lark has some stars I'd like, wood ones, did you see them? Pippa :)
ReplyDeleteOh Pippa your retro decs sounds great, I look forward to seeing them on Ouchflower or perhaps the Thrift Collective!? I LOVE the wooden star clusters from Lark they are so completely retro!.
DeleteKicking myself for not buying these fantastic plywood teak looking babushkas and deers from Cotton on Kids, of all places, a few months ago - they were mobiles but would have made the best vintage style nordic decs for this year, don't you hate that!!.
xx Tina
Oh I do adore old school Christmas decorations and carols!
ReplyDeleteCas x
